Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – Everyone seems very happy to receive the ‘Cash Grant’ currently being distributed in Guyana, and with the announcement by Vice President Dr. Jagdeo that the government is also considering private schools surely shows that in keeping with the slogan ‘No One Should Be Left Out’ means that this administration is not causing separation. Despite wicked elements lurking and spreading the seeds of hatred, without a doubt, everyone is quite pleased with the government’s action towards school children and assisting parents.
Editor, when the ‘Covid-19’ relief money started distributing throughout Guyana, there was lots of confusion, resulting in many not being recipients of the relief money, and despite the promises after, some remain unfortunate. Notably, many immigrants seeking refuge in Guyana were under the impression that they would have also been receiving the relief money, but that wasn’t the case.
Many of these immigrants manage to get their children to enroll in government schools using their country’s papers and I am wondering if they would be fortunate to receive the ‘Cash Grant’ too. I don’t know if that was mention in the media, I probably missed it. I personally think that they are entitled to it also because their parents are working in Guyana and contributing to the economy too.
Yours truly,
Sahadeo Bates

By Sir Ronald Sanders (Kaieteur News) – When the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran was announced on 7th April, 2026, the immediate reaction across much of the world was relief.
