Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Health yesterday has reported in its daily COVID-19 update that a further 100 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours, which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 19,774.
The update also reported that unfortunately three males who tested positive for the virus have passed away whilst receiving medical attention. This has caused the total number of deaths to increase to 462. These latest victims are a 53-year-old Region 3 resident and a 57-year-old from Region Six who both passed away on June 14, while a 79-year-old, also from Region Six, died on June 22.
At the present time, there are 19 patients in the ICU and a total of 1,646 persons in home and institutional isolation; this brings the total number of active cases to 1,665 in the country. Approximately 17,647 persons have recovered from this severe virus in Guyana.
