Ally/Watkins claim LGC Independence golf title
Respective prize winners with their incentives.
Kaieteur News – Anasha Ally and Tom Watkins emerged champions of the Independence open pairs golf tournament which was contested on Wednesday at the Lusignan Golf Club.
Ally/Watkins with 9 handicap registered a score of 39 gross and 30 net, while Pope London and Shanella London placed second with a handicap of 7 chalked up 38 gross and 31 net.
The pair of Patrick Prashad and Andrew Cummings took third place after a handicap of 6 they managed 37 gross and 31 net, followed by Mike Mangal/Rohan Albert hadicap 9 gross 41 net 32.
The results were determined by the front 9 scores because of inclement weather and most players were able to complete the front 9.
There were 42 players but the persistent rain made it difficult to have a full day’s play. The greens were extremely wet which made putting a challenge.
Meanwhile, the LGC/Hallmark and C&L Construction Inc Open scheduled for today is now postponed until further notice. This postponement is necessary due to the wet course caused by persistent rainfall.
