Kaieteur News – A 63-year-old Kitty businessman was on Thursday robbed at gunpoint by three bandits posing as customers.
The businessman was identified as Nohardauth Saywack of Pike Street, Kitty.
Reports are that the robbery occurred at around 07:35 hrs.
Saywack was reportedly in his store, located in the bottom flat of his two-storey house.
The businessman told police that during that time, one of the suspects came into the store posing as a customer.
While being attended, the “customer” pulled out a handgun from his pants waist and pointed it to the businessman.
Saywack reported that the suspect hit him on his face with the gun and demanded that he hand over cash.
Two other bandits then came in and began ransacking the store.
They robbed the businessman of one cellphone valued $12,000, a passport containing a ‘US Green Card’ and an undisclosed sum of cash.
The three suspects then escaped.
The police had since launched an investigation into the matter.
