DEAR EDITOR,
The former prime minister has made two observations relevant to the current situations.
In one observation he is astute in ‘political situation could stall Int’l aid to Guyana’ (KN April 24). A political situation brought about by the administration of which he is a part of and which he is doing nothing tangible to bring about a speedy end to.
The second observation – ‘Emergency COVID -19 measures likely to be extended’ in another newspaper on April 24). I support and am in agreement of an extension of the emergency measures maybe until mid-May, once there is no drastic rise in cases and or deaths.
The curfew measures are not observed as it should and sometimes I wonder if I am the only person who is unaware the curfew has been lifted. But on a serious note greater enforcement of the curfew and a responsible attitude of all measures are essential for any degree of curtailment and ultimately eradication of the virus.
