West Indian Sports Complex supports Winston Pompey Boxing Gym
Azad Khan, on behalf of the West Indies Sports Complex recently made a donation of boxing gear to Winston Pompey Boxing Warriors Gym. According to Khan the presentation was made at ‘A’ Field Sophia Community Centre because West Indies Sports Complex wants to support and help the development of local boxing.

“West Indian Sports Complex has been in existence for over three decades at its same location on Robb Street Georgetown and we would like to equip our youths with the right sports equipment to reach their full potential,” said Khan.
The Sports Store was owned by Azad’s Father the late Feroze Khan, who played first division cricket for West Demerara and Everest and was an avid sports enthusiast. Coach Dexter Gonsalves received the items on behalf of the Winston Pompey Warriors Boxing Gym which produced Emanuel Pompey.
The young boxers were overwhelmed and happy with the items donated due to the fact that they are now starting to build their boxing gym.
