As part of their corporate responsibility Mike’s Pharmacy has presented a quantity of cricket equipment to the Wakenaam Cricket Committee.
The presentation took place yesterday at Mike’s Pharmacy Bel Air branch where Coach Zaheer Mohamed received the equipment on behalf of the WCC. Mohamed expressed gratitude to the management and staff of Mike’s Pharmacy and indicated that the gears will be distributed to the promising U19 players on the Island.
Wayne Jones of Mike’s Pharmacy said they remained committed towards the development of the sport and noted that a number of outstanding players have emerged from the Island.
Jones, a stalwart in the softball arena, said he hopes to see many more players coming out from the island and urged the players there to remain committed to the sport as well as their education.
Mike’s Pharmacy has collaborated with Trophy Stall to sponsor an U19 40-over tournament on the island. The final is set for next Saturday.
