The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) made a donation of rackets, nets and shuttlecocks to Mr. Shavin Greene, Physical Education Teacher at the Mackenzie High School (MHS) in Linden to start its Outreach Programme aimed at getting Badminton restarted in Linden.
Mr. Greene who did a two-day training session last month with the association was exposed to the necessary rules and regulations of the sport which will serve him and the students well at MHS.
The GBA will from time to time visit the school to follow up on the progress and give the necessary advice where needed. Meanwhile, the GBA will be hosting a tournament on the second weekend in October where schools would be competing in the Under-11, 13, 15 and 17 categories.
