Three goals were scored on match day three of the Theresa and George Bobb / RFA Under-17 Women’s round-robin tournament being held at the St. Ignatius Sports Club where the Guyana Rush Saints FC commands the points table with six after their second win in the tournament.
The last match up of the teams on August 9 saw three matches being played with wins for Moco-Moco FC and Guyana Rush Saints FC by respective 1-0 and 2-0 margins over Terminators FC and Gladiators FC. The third match ended 0-0 between Rising Stars FC and Tabatinga FC.
Naomi Scopio scored the winner for Moco-Moco in the 40th minute securing the victory for her team but the result does not quite reflect the story of the match as her team had to put on a valiant fight against the aggressive Terminators who were intent on also registering a win.
The second match saw Nina Cabral scoring in the 34th and 36th minutes for Guyana Rush Saints FC against a very competitive Gladiators FC. While the goals were scored in the first half, it was the more competitive half but the Guyana Rush Saints FC were the more dominant and eventually secured the three points in the championship as the match ended on 2-0.
The Rising Stars FC vs Tabatinga FC match saw the fans being treated to some very exciting individual skills but the 50 minutes could not separate the two teams and they had to settle for an equal share of the points.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the following matches: Sky Kings FC will oppose Moco-Moco FC from 17:00hrs; Terminators FC battle Far East SC one hour later with the final match from 19:00hrs bringing together Saints FC and Rising Stars FC.
