Warm and applauding congratulations from The Mayor and City Council of Georgetown to the students who would have written the National Grade Six Assessment. You are the children of tomorrow, and the future of this great nation, and whether you have gotten the highest or lowest secondary school within your city or country, your journey does not stop there.
“The world is your oyster” in the words of William Shakespeare, you are in a position to take the opportunities offered to you. This is merely just a stepping stone for you towards exceedingly great things. This is your foundation, so do the best you can, and as you prepare yourselves to attend your respective schools, just put your best foot forward and shine. Remember that the sky is not your limit, there’s more beyond what the naked eyes can see. I wish you well in your future endeavours. There are many stars but I encourage you to be the sun – go and shine your brightest of lights and share your knowledge as we take Guyana to higher heights.
