Fans and athletes are in for a treat come this Sunday when the Fitness Express sponsored Guyana Amateur

Treasurer of the Guyana Amateur Power Lifting and Fitness Federation, Andrew Austin (right) receives the sponsorship cheque from Fitness Express’ Jamie McDonald.
Power Lifting Federation Intermediate and Masters Championships are held at the Saints Stanislaus College Auditorium.
There would be a total of 24 lifters taking to the platform to outdo each other in the three lifts, squat, bench press and deadlift. According to an official of the federation, fans can look forward to an improved ambience at the venue as they seek to lift their levels with the patrons in mind.
Sponsors too would be enjoying a new experience as the body seeks to ensure more visibility for their corporate partners.
Long time partner, Fitness Express through its Manager Jamie McDonald has for the 9th successive year maintained support of the athletes and the federation for these competitions. McDonald in handing over the cheque to Treasurer of the GAPLF, Andrew Austin, commended the efforts of the federation in ensuring that athletes are afforded the opportunities to express themselves as they know how.
“The fact that you guys have been working towards upliftment of the sport yearly is commendable and we here at Fitness Express is more than happy to play our part in your success. We wish every athlete success at Sunday’s event and be assured of our continued partnership.”
Austin conveyed the federation’s gratitude to McDonald and company on behalf of President Ed Caesar and executive for their sustained support, nine years and counting.
The Masters competition will feature the likes of Edwin Spencer, Frank Tucker and Noel Cummings as they strive to out power each other. Flight A will lift off at 10:00hrs, while Flight B will commence at 14:30hrs.
Also among the new additions would be a podium sponsored by Banks DIH Limited under their Tropical Mist brand, while there would also be Ju Jitsu demonstrations during the course of the day’s happenings.
