1E will continue to support Guyanese athletes – Karayi

Best known across the tech industry for helping some of the biggest organisations in the world manage extremely complex IT estates, British Digital Software Company 1E continues to extend its corporate responsibility arm way beyond the shores of Great Britain.

Across its twenty-year history, however, the Company has consistently maintained a strong and outstanding commitment to what is now referred to as ‘corporate social responsibility’ –but what was once simply called ‘goodness’.
According to Founder and CEO Sumir Karayi, “We are committed to providing those tools to people in need,” adding that during its history, the Company has supported many charities, such as the Fair Chance Foundation- an organisation dedicated to improving the future livelihoods of disadvantaged children and young adults through education- including an orphanage in New Delhi, India.
The Company has also teamed up with the University of Warwick to conduct a research project to discover what is limiting girls’ chances of taking advantage of educational opportunities in Haryana, India.
The entity has been offering its support to sports entities and athletes in Guyana over the years through employee and former middle distance track star Waveney Been, who makes the annual sojourn to give back to her country of birth.
Recently, Benn returned and donated a quantity of balls, bags, boots and other items to organisations such as Three Peat Promotions, Demerara Cricket Club among others.
Karayi promised that 1E will continue to support Benn in her quest to equip and empower Guyanese athletes and sports organisations.
Benn in her remarks thanked all those employees, who after hearing about her endeavour, offered their respective support to the cause. She identified staffers such as Nichola Williams.
Both Three Peat Promotions and the DCC thanked her for the goodwill, promising to ensure that the items are properly utilized to the benefit of the athletes.
