DEAR EDITOR,

We write this letter in response to a letter captioned “An open letter to the management of GTT” published on 4thApril, 2019 in your newspaper.
The writer, Mr. Hubert C. Roberts, raised the concern that GTT “[is] providing a variety of its services to over three hundred thousand of Guyana’s population, while leaving the other proportion of the population without internet and attendant services.”
Roberts also mentioned Bagotville, Canals No. 1 & 2 Polder and Parfait Harmonie are communities, which he states are “frustrated without the lack of services.” We would like to counter the writer’s blanket assertion of communities being denied of the services, which we provide.
Since the introduction of GTT’s Blaze internet service in 2017, we have worked to extend the offer to communities outside of the Georgetown area.
In June 2018, the Parfait Harmonie area was listed a “Current Service Area” on our GTT website, which meant it was eligible for the Blaze service, along with other villages on the West Bank including Bagotville, La Grange, La Retraite, and Onderneeming.
GTT continues to work overtime to ‘Do More’ for its customers. It should be noted that with the implementation of the Blaze, which comes with both internet and 900 FREE minutes, customers have been opting for the Blaze package benefits.
We know many Guyanese are enthusiastic for Blaze; we are working to address this need. However, for the communities, which cannot access these services just yet, we would like to encourage the writer and other residents to utilise the services, which GTT provides in these areas.
Currently, we have several mobile data bundles, which allow customers the benefit from browsing, and streaming movies online.
We at GTT strive to satisfy our customers as we continue to review our rollout plan for Blaze to meet the needs of the customers.
