Alcohol and quick tempers have again proved to be a deadly mix.
This time around, a 21-year-old miner is in custody for stabbing a 19-year-old associate to death in a camp at Frenchman, located a few miles from Mabura.
The incident occurred at around 22.00 hrs on Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Alex Daniels, of Swan Village, located off the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
According to reports, Daniels, the suspect and a third man were drinking at Frenchman Landing when an argument broke out between Daniels and the 21-year-old.
Persons who were around intervened, but when the men returned to their camp, the argument escalated and the suspect took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Daniels in the region of the heart.
Police said that the suspect has confessed, and he is expected to be charged following a postmortem on the victim.
Police have already recorded a number of similar disorderly murders for the year.
