Dec 01, 2018 Letters
You will never be half the man your father, Dr. Keshav “Bud” Mangal, was. Your father was a principled man of dignity and class who served as a PPPC Elections Commissioner from 1992 to January 2015. Bud Mangal passed away in October 2015 and was remembered as a fine doctor and a gentleman.
Therefore Mr. Jan Mangal, please acknowledge that the APNU AFC government that you constantly bash, is the same government that hired you in 2017 as President Granger’s petroleum advisor, even though they were aware that you were the son of PPPC commissioner, Bud Mangal.
This is because the APNU AFC government is mature, disciplined and manages the affairs of Guyana with the highest level of impartiality. Our government accepted your qualifications and expected you to act as professional and disciplined as your father. However, it is the opinion of most Guyanese in the diaspora that you have turned out to be an arrogant blowhard, constantly thrashing the APNU AFC Government. You have self destructed in front of a national audience with the theatrics of a one-man circus.
The Toronto Central Chapter of the PNCR will respond in writing to correct every misstatement you choose to make in the future against the government. Your tirade is divisive to the national interests of Guyana; your observations are detached from reality.
Your recent comments about how APNU AFC will fare in the 2020 elections has finally exposed you have a political agenda. Nevertheless, your political observations are meaningless. You sound like a desperate man adrift in your own ego.
Instead of baseless attacks on the APNU AFC government, I urge you to use respectful communication because companies in Guyana who may need your skills are also looking at your behavior. Don’t hedge your bets for a post with political opposing forces in Guyana because the educated conclusion by most people is that successive APNU AFC led governments will govern Guyana for the next forty years or more.
This is evidenced today by the fast pace of social and infrastructure development by President Granger and his Cabinet. You may consider updating your Linkedin page and your resume to reflect that you are still bashing your last client, the Guyana government.
The diaspora thinks you are a hypocrite for the July 2018 article where you are referenced bashing Guyanese as “aspiring jokers in a line” because of their interest in becoming middle men to help foreign companies establish services in Guyana.
There’s nothing wrong with Guyanese wanting to act as brokers and earn a living in the new emerging oil economy. It’s called capitalism and it works well in the US, UK and Canada. You should know since you have spent most of your life outside Guyana and only returned a few years ago to land a job as petroleum advisor to the same Guyana government you now bash.
Do you think you should be on a privileged list of persons to enjoy employment in the new oil economy? Every single Guyanese deserves a chance to earn a decent living. What’s wrong with you? You are not satisfied with attacking APNU AFC government; you are now attacking the common man. The citizens are not bothering you, so kindly refrain from disparaging remarks about them. How pathetic you are.
You are throwing rocks at the windows of a government built for peace, national development and social cohesion. No one is impressed with your behavior except those handing you rocks, using you. Mr. Jan Mangal, this government has nothing against you, why do you seem to have everything against it. You may yet redeem yourself, benefit yourself and benefit Guyana by being respectful and productive.
