Fifty-five year-old Dorsett Small was found dead yesterday in his Mandela Avenue, East La Penitence home at around 11:00 hrs.
Small’s neighbour, Daniel Anderson, said that neighbours began to worry about Small, since they had not seen him for some time. Nearby security guards told Anderson that Small’s lights were on for two days, but there were no signs of movement in or out of the compound. So they had decided to make a report to the police, and were advised to scale the fence so that they may access the home.
Small’s friend, Gary Brandt, said that he was calling Small on Tuesday last, but got no answer. So, upon visiting the house yesterday, he resorted to scaling the fence and breaking the locks to get into the house.
According to Brandt, Small was found stretched out in a chair, covered by a sheet. Brandt said that was not unusual for Small to sleep on the couch sometimes. Brandt said that there was no sign of forced entry into the home or marks on his person to indicate foul play.
Small lived alone in his home where he worked as a potter.
Police are currently investigating the matter.
