Herstelling and Ruimveldt registered victories when the latest round of matches in the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA)/ Neville Sarjoo Memorial 50-over tournament concluded on Sunday last.
At YMCA, Herstelling beat Uprising by three wickets. Uprising batted first and managed 151 all out in 24.3 overs. Jermaine Mc Neil made 44 not out including four fours and three sixes, while Irfaan Ali got 41 with three fours and a similar number of sixes. Buddan Baksh snared 2-19 and Delroy Williams 2-30. In reply, Herstelling got to 152-7. Navendra Pooran scored 42 not out with seven fours and one six, while Unnis Yusuf made 33 which contained one four and three sixes. Mohamed Baksh claimed 2-39.
At Laluni, Ruimveldt overcame the home team by five runs. Ruimveldt were bowled out for 88, taking first strike. R. Ramlall made 17 and Omesh Danram16. In reply, Laluni were sent packing for 83; R. Mohamed had 3-18 and Eric Sukrah 3-21. The competition continues on Sunday.
