Dear Editor,
This year Guyana will be hosting Local Government Elections 2018.
After a period of almost two decades, local Government Elections has returned to Guyana in 2016 when the Coalition Government ascended to Office in 2015 after defeating the PPP who ruled for 23 years.
When the AFC ran in 2015 for Local Government Elections, they ran together with the Coalition Parties thus fulfilling the return of Local Government Elections after an absence of at least two decades.
This time around the Alliance for Change is running alone. But a number of youths are running for the various constituencies across the country.
At the recent launch of the Party’s Local Government Elections candidacy, the atmosphere was electrified with energy as the candidates were encouraged to display the same energy on the campaign trail.
As the atmosphere was charged, the AFC is poised to win a landslide victory at this year’s polls. As Candidates were encouraged by the Party Leaders to be energized, the party is showcasing the young candidates.
The AFC must lead the revolution in transforming Guyana from the bottom up.
Best Regards,
Dillon Goring
