Chemroy Kendall struck a fine 89 while Raphael Singh grabbed four wickets as Rome Athletic defeated Herstelling by three wickets when the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association/ Neville Sarjoo Memorial 40-over tournament continued on Sunday last at YMCA ground.
Batting first, Herstelling managed 187 all out in 28.1 overs with Anand Bharat scoring 55 with five fours and five sixes while Wazir Hussein made 35 and Ricky Sergeant 26. Singh finished with 4-34 from seven overs while Lennox Andrews had 2-0.
Rome Athletic responded with 188-7 in 29.4 overs. Kendall struck five fours and nine sixes in his innings while Andrews made 27. Sergeant had 3-21. The competition continues tomorrow with Ruimveldt playing Peter’s Hall at YMCA and Herstelling facing Eccles at Joe Vieira Park. On Sunday Nandy Park will play Silverbullet at YMCA. All matches start at 10:00hrs.
