Dear Editor,
In year 2020, voters will elect their leaders to improve their well-being in a potentially oil-rich economy. The existence of windfall-oil revenues doesn’t automatically translate into development unless the newly elected leader is a person of vision, honesty and committed to unifying the country. Under these circumstances, Guyanese voters must make informed decisions about their Members of Parliament and potential politicians who wish to lead the next general election in 21st Century Guyana. How do voters know whether political leaders are making the best choices under the circumstances of huge oil revenues? Are they misguiding the public by using their positions to develop the country or to personally enrich themselves? Informed decisions, based on past and current information on key political celebrities, must be readily and easily accessible. The Association of Conservative Guyanese (ACG) in response to the lack of data on presidential hopefuls, has decided to investigate key political figures who have directly and indirectly expressed an interest to represent Guyanese in 2020 General Elections. The ACG is a non-governmental organization of volunteers who are dedicated to champion the cause of the poor, and the working poor Guyanese.
The list of criteria used to reveal information about potential candidates, whether AFC-APNU or PPP/C, is based on evidence, Newspapers publications, videos, and public statements which are verifiable; hence, ACG is a fact-finding mission to offer information to the Guyanese voters and key institutional stakeholders at home and abroad. The published facts will facilitate voters to assess politicians at two stages: in the first stage, we will offer a descriptive statistic of the candidates based on verifiable public data; and, in the second stage, profiled politicians will have an opportunity to deny or verify the facts. The criteria-list is not exhaustive and covers three broad categories as follows: Socio-biographic data, Family values, and Leadership in an oil-rich Guyana. Over the course of the next several weeks, we will present our findings. In this week fact findings, we begin with Mohabir Anil Nandlall (Known as Anil) who is currently engaging the Guyanese Diaspora to elicit his intention to lead the PPP/C in the 2020 General Election. Note that 55% of Guyanese reside abroad and is known collectively as the Diaspora which is a key stakeholder in Guyana’s elections.
Sincerely,
Nandalall Singh

(Kaieteur News) – There is no question that Guyanese would have noticed the brooch worn by Delcy Rodríguez during her recent visits to Grenada and Barbados.
