A section of the East Coast Demerara road is to be closed tomorrow for the laying of underground ducts. According to the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, the works will affect East Coast public road within the vicinity of Vryheid’s Lust.
”The road closure is necessary to facilitate a request made China Railway First Group, the contractor responsible for the East Coast Highway Improvement Project (Better Hope to Belfield).
The works will commence from 08:30hrs and expected to conclude by 15:30hrs.
It will involve the installation of underground ducts to facilitate a cable diversion.
“Traffic will be diverted thru Plaisance Road (West) onto the Railway Embankment into Chimney Road at Chateau Margot,” GTT said in the statement.
