At the National Track and Field Center (NTFC), Leonora tonight, Western Tigers are poised to regain the spot at the top of the points table when they come against the seemingly toothless Cougars FC in the feature match at 21:00hrs.
Currently, Fruta Conquerors (11 matches) are top of the league table with 26 points, only ahead of Den Amstel FC (12 games) on goal difference. However, Western Tigers, that finished the first half of the league as the leaders have been pegged by many to usurp Guyana Defence Force (GDF) as national Champions, and they currently are third in the points table with 24 from 10 matches.
Berbice based Cougars are currently ranked seventh after winning only two of their 11 games while losing the other nine with the worst goal difference of -30 in the league. In the evening’s opening match that kicks off at 19:00hrs, Ann’s Grove United will oppose New Amsterdam United in a bottom of the table encounter.
This game should be exciting as both teams will be looking to go all out in a bid to avoid relegation.
