A young motorcyclist was killed early yesterday morning when he lost control of his cycle while negotiating a turn at the Russian Embassy, in Kitty.
The dead man has been identified as twenty-two-year-old Suresh Kellowan, a heavy duty machine operator, of Good Hope, East Coast Demerara.
The incident occurred around 03:00 hrs on Kitty Public Road, Georgetown.
According to information, Kellowan was riding motorcycle CD 4662 without a safety helmet.
He was reportedly proceeding west at a fast rate when he lost control while negotiating the turn at Russian Embassy and collided with the guard rail.
An eyewitness who arrived at the scene shortly after the collision claimed that Kellowan was riding at a fast rate and he did not navigate the turn properly which caused him to hit the rails on the road, next to the Russian Embassy.
Kellowan was picked up by public spirited persons and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
