The Preliminary Inquiry into the murder of Faiyaz Narinedatt, a Number 70 Village carpenter, whose lifeless body was found along the public road in the said village continued yesterday with two witnesses making an appearance at the Number 51 Magistrate Court.
Both witnesses gave brief testimonies and were cross-examined by Attorneys Sanjeev Datadin and Bernard Da Silva.
Datadin stood in Siand Dhurjon’s absence, he is representing two of the accused.
The prosecution was led by special prosecutor Attorney-at-law Stacy Goodings. The next court date is set for April 19, 2018.
Faiyaz Narinedatt was allegedly murdered and his body dumped and run over by a car after he allegedly had an altercation with a US-based businessman, Marcus Bisram.
Bisram is alleged to have ordered his beating.
The businessman fled Guyana and was arrested last July, with a New York court subsequently ordering his extradition to face a murder charge.
Five persons – Orlando Dookie, Diodath Datt, Niran Yacoob, Radesh Motie and Harri Paul Parsram – have all been charged.
