Assistant Secretary Simon Naidu hands over donation to Mr. Budhoo in the presence of RHTYSC Cricketers.
“The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, MS and its ten Cricket Teams are totally dedicated to making positive differences in the lives of others and as a Club we would continue to touch the down trodden as we strongly believe that it is a mission from God to serve those poorer that us.” Those were the words of Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster as the ten cricket teams handed over a large donation of items to a family affected by violence.
The teams handed over a quantity of groceries, clothing, footwear and educational materials to Rishi Budhoo of Tain to assist him to provide for his two nieces. The five years twins lost their grandmother and elder sister to a violent attacker, while their mother was severely injured. Budhoo has been looking after the twins for about three years as their mother is physically incapable of doing so.
Foster, who has direct responsibility for the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Social Programme, readily agreed to assist Budhoo after being approached. The Cricketers of the ten cricket teams along with their Over-35 Group counterparts pooled their resources together to make the donation.
Assistant Secretary Simon Naidu stated that the cricket teams’ donation were done under their Make a Wish Programme as it was heartbreaking to observe the smiles on the children’s faces despite the nightmare they endured so early in their young lives. The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, he stated, was totally committed to assisting the twins until they complete their educational careers. The young cricketers, Naidu noted are inspired to assist others by the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Management as part of their personal development programme under the theme “No Matter how poor you are, there is always someone poorer that you”. Since its introduction in 2013, the Make a Wish Programme has assisted over 500 children to make their lives better.
Mr. Budhoo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Secretary/CEO the ten cricket teams and Over 35 Group for their assistance. He stated that he was advised to visit the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Office for assistance and was pleasantly surprised to receive the requested items in less than 24 hours. He encouraged the young cricketers to continue their outstanding work and wished them success on the cricket field. Any individual or Company wishing to assist the family can contact the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club office on 337-4562 or email foster_hilbert@yahoo.com for more information.
