Neilson Sinclair, 29, a Medical Administrator of Temple Street, Ogle, East Coast Demerara, was yesterday charged and remanded to prison for murdering Hazrat Shaffie, a furniture factory operator.
Sinclair appeared before Magistrate Alisha George yesterday in the Sparendaam Magistrate Court where he was not required to plead to the charge.
Sinclair was arrested last Friday for allegedly kicking Hazrat Shaffie repeatedly to the head.
The attack was witnessed by Sinclair’s father since it occurred in front of their residence where the senior Sinclair, who is a doctor, operates a clinic.
According to information received, Shaffie had visited the clinic for a check-up after complaining of feeling unwell. It is alleged that the younger Sinclair dragged Shaffie out of his car and proceeded to violently kick him to his head.
Shaffie was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state and later died on Monday.
Sinclair will return to court on March 23, 2018.
