Dear Editor,
A reputable mining company in Region # 2 is refusing to pay money owed to me as an excavator operator during a three month period of employment for last year.
The company’s manager had prepared a time sheet which is in my possession showing that one and a half million dollars ($1,500,000.00) is owing to me for services rendered as from 2017-07-17 to 2- 1 7- 1 0- 1 7 inclusive of overtime.
A formal complaint of my predicament was made at the Ministry of Labour’s District Office at Anna Regina where several requests were made for a company’s representative to be present, but it was of no avail.
From a visit made at the company’s Charity Office I was advised to make contact with the Minister of Labour and it was done only to show how insult is being added to injury.
As an impecunious person not being in a position to pursue court action, I am optimistic that the Ministry’s intervention will help me to get my money.
