Dear Editor,
There is a Certain Police Commander in a Certain Division who is very close to the Acting Commissioner of Police who feels that he can do ranks whatever pleases him.
I am a member of the Guyana Police Force for the past 16 years and never came across a police commander who is very dangerous and cannot be trusted.
If these are the qualities of a police commander then the force is heading in the wrong direction. This man is always involved in inappropriate relationships with junior ranks but nothing is being done all because of his connections and we are feeling the blunt.
During the Christmas season, we would normally divide the time off in two. Some go home for Christmas then some go for New Year. I went for the New Year after approval was given by the commander, but then he called his friend who is acting Commissioner and reported how I abandoned the station knowing I was on days off.
This Commander always lies on ranks who don’t suck up to his plea for inappropriate relationships. A certain female rank was transferred out of the division leaving her school-aged children behind all because of his lies and because she didn’t agree to be with him.
I would like to know, if these are the qualities of a Police Commander?
Serving Member of the Force
