Dear Editor,
In regards to Freddie’s Kissoon article of Thursday, September 28, captioned, “There is a colossal psychic breakdown in Guyana,” this colossal, psychic decay of Guyana, can easily be traced back to the time Jagdeo became president. All the rules of law went through the window under Jagdeo’s reign. It seems like he gave the police the license to do whatever they wanted which they took full advantage of, then, he turned around and had a notorious drug dealer in charge of enforcing law and order. This is why you find so much of the crime today is committed by ex-police officers. Kids growing up during this time saw so much brutality that it has become part of them and this is what Guyana has to contend with now.
