NDC takes control of La Parfaite Harmonie

The Neighbouring Democratic Council of La Grange/Nimes/La Parfaite Harmonie will be given the full authority to maintain the needs for waste disposal and other maintenance projects in the areas located there.
This was confirmed by the Ministry Of Communities’ Public Relation Officer, Iva Wharton.
She said that the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) is working with the NDC to maintain La Parfaite Harmonie which will soon be under its jurisdiction. This will aid all the communities on the West Bank since there is much work to be done.
Such a move will especially benefit the community of La Parfaite Harmonie since there is no proper garbage collecting service though a known private contractor, Puran Bros, has been working privately there hired by residents..
When asked about the garbage situation in La Parfaite Harmonie, Miss Wharton urged the residents of the area to desist from dumping garbage in bushy areas and to stop the burning of garbage on the side of the roads since it is illegal and dangerous.
Such actions are not in accordance with the wishes of the Fire Service Corporation.
She said that it would help to maintain a healthy community. She asked that residents report any such actions.
She said that interviews were conducted by the minister, where they discovered that there is a need to provide a permanent source of service in the area.
The communities will benefit from the initiative since many diseases are breed through uncontrolled and illegal disposal of garbage.
Other than garbage collection, the NDC will be in charge of maintenance of roads, trenches and parapets.
The public handing over will be announced at a later date.
