Dear Editor,
My last letter to the press, sought to have the Minister of Agriculture investigate discrimination and favourtism at my place of employment.
Since then, there was no evident move on his part. However, management in an effort to ease all tensions sought to have a suggestion box, which will ensure that employees air their concerns. Although it sounds well, this is just another slap in the face of us, employees since the box according to management will be placed in the office.
Mr. Editor, do you believe that any employee will go to the box? Putting a suggestion box in an area where one can be easily seen and identified makes no sense. It’s just as saying, “I have seen who you are I will now directly target you”
I am using my pen again to reach out to the Minister. Honorable Minister, you have taken on the responsibility of one of the biggest sectors in the country, agriculture month is closing in, staff members are frustrated.
We feel stagnated. There is no upward mobility and motivation for us.
You need robust and dedicated employees but how can we function when no one listens to our cry? I beg of you to intervene in the mistreatment and discrimination of staff at this institution, especially those who not find favour in management’s ‘eyes’. Dear Editior, I beg of you to publish this letter. Further I seek your news agency’s assistance to launch an investigation into the treatment of staff at NAREI.

(Kaieteur News) – Guyana is one hell of a country. This country under the PPP Govt. must qualify to be in an extremely ugly category of its own.
