The murder trial for Basil Morgan is underway at the High Court in Georgetown. Morgan is one of five men implicated in the 2009 terror crimes.
A jury empanelled yesterday will oversee the trial of Morgan for the murder of Woddet Roberts called “Buck Man,” The crime would have been committed between November 3 and November 4, 2009. Roberts was allegedly killed during a robbery.
It is alleged that Morgan was among a gang that robbed Roberts of a Tacoma vehicle.
During the trial, Morgan will be facing Justice James Bovell Drakes and a mixed twelve-member jury. He will be represented by Attorney Lyndon Amsterdam.
State Prosecutor, Tuanna Hardy is presenting the matter.
In 2009, Morgan was implicated in a number of terrorist activities in Georgetown. The activities implicated Colin Jones and three other men. Jones and the remainder of the gang have since pleaded guilty to the crimes and have been jailed.
Among the indictments they faced were charges for murder, attempted murder, discharging a loaded firearm with intent, wounding with intent and arson.
