Dear Editor,
We are not just witnessing the failure of a political party, but the ultimate end of it. The AFC has no chance of surviving the 2020 General Election, and this is because it consists of spineless, selfish men who put the interest of themselves first. Nagamootoo and Ramjattan and others, mostly ‘Madrasi’, who have teamed up with the APNU to throw the PPP out of Office have been very silent when it comes to the wrongdoings of the APNU, especially against the people. Jobs are being taken away, appointments on boards are being made, and the nepotistic acts of the Granger Administration cannot be hidden.
Ramjattan, Nagamootoo and others, including folks such as Trotman seem to be very comfortable and trusted by the Granger Administration. You know exactly where I am coming from. Ramjattan and Nagamootoo are given fat salaries and superb perks for the time being to remain silent, and Granger and the PNC are consolidating their grip on this country. It would not be long before they are given the boot. A couple of years ago, everyday you would open the pages of the newspapers you would see stories about Jagdeo, Ramroop, Sattaur, and so on.
Where are the newspapers today? What has happened to the radio licence Mr. Lall had anticipated? Can Nagamootoo or Ramjattan give Kaieteur News a radio licence? AFC members who are part of the Coalition are being given fat salaries, but they are not actively involved in the administration of Guyana. It seems as if their support for the Coalition was given a price tag, and they just sold themselves and their handful supporter out. A person’s desire for material wealth and opportunities must not hamper their ability to speak up and stand up for what is right.
