Corentyne rice farmer pinned to death
A rice farmer of No.46 Village was yesterday pinned to death by a tractor while in the rice fields.
Killed: Robert Kendall
Dead is Robert Kendall, 53, of No.46 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
According to reports, Gavin Kendall, 23, also a rice farmer and son of the deceased who was with his father at the time of the incident stated that he and the senior Kendall were operating a tractor at his rice field at No.46 Village when the tractor turned turtle, pinning the senior Kendall in the process.
Young Kendall reportedly rushed to his father’s assistance and took him to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is currently at the hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
The incident took place approximately a mile from the No.46 Public Road.
