-Tries to have son released for gun possession
Police have arrested a 39-year-old man who tried to bribe a cop with $500,000 to release his son who was arrested on Friday with an illegal gun and ammunition.
The suspect, who resides in ‘C’ Field Sophia, was apprehended during a sting operation and the cash has been lodged as exhibits.
The man’s 19-year-old son was held after he dropped an unlicensed .32 pistol with five rounds on Vlissengen Road and fled.
He was subsequently held during a police pursuit.
Both father and son are likely to make a court appearance.
