Old people got a saying—Carrion Crow does wait till rain fall to build house. All it mean is that some people does sit down and don’t know that they want something until dire straits hit dem. That is wha happen de other day and cause all manner of confusion.
And when all is said and done is de Hammer Man cause it. Years ago dem had an arch outside the Ruimveldt Police Station. De Hammer Man decide to widen de road suh he tek down de arch. When de road done and de people looking for de arch dem couldn’t find it. De Hammer Man seh it deh in he office compound, but still de people couldn’t find it.
Dem boys seh that is how Banks come to put up an arch by Eccles to mark the gateway to Georgetown. Banks do it fuh de 50th anniversary and was a big ceremony.
Now up comes Ansa McAl and dem building another arch to signal de start of de city at the east. Was a good idea till de traffic confusion start, Vehicles couldn’t go east or west. Of course none could go north because that is de seawall.
Children who was coming to town to write dem exams reach late. Dem boys wonder if some of dem miss de exam altogether.
Is a wonder that a lady wasn’t coming to de city to get a baby. She woulda mek it in de car because is hours she woulda been stall pun de road.
People cuss Soulja Bai, because when anything go wrong is Soulja Bai cause it. Nuff people couldn’t reach dem wuk. Dem boys seh is a good thing wasn’t pay day, because dem woulda have a riot.
People call Soulja Bai. Soulja Bai call Patterson, and Patterson call de one who responsible fuh roads. That one, Vaughn, call de Traffic Chief, who look fuh somebody to call, and didn’t see nobody.
That is how dem stop de wuk pun de arch and let de traffic flow. Dem decide den gun do de wuk in de night, but that is when people going home. That is how dem boys know people sleep pun de road last night.
Talk half and look out fuh more confusion today.
