Pele, Santos, Thomas United, Beacons, Rasta Patriots and Plaisance are among eight teams to have signaled their intention to participate in the three-day Masters Easter Classic Knockout Football Tournament which opens today with a double header, at the Tucville ground.
In today’s fixtures, Beacons go up against Rasta Patriots from 18:00hrs and this encounter will be followed by the clash between Santos and Wales at 20:00hrs. Action in the competition continues tomorrow with another double header at the same venue.
In the first game, Thomas United tackles Park Rangers, before Pele and Plaisance square off at 20:00hrs. The semi-finals and final will be played on Sunday, at the same venue.
Meanwhile, a source close to the Organisers disclosed that the winning team will take away $75,000 and the runner-up $25,000 along with trophies. Among the entities that have contributed to the event are: Guyana Beverages Company, Star Party Rentals, De Sinco Trading, Bounty, Hamson General Store and Jermaine’s Enterprise.
