A 30-year-old minibus conductor was yesterday placed on $50,000 bail by City Magistrate
Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
On March 21, last, at Georgetown, Mark Richmond, had in his possession one television set, one laptop and one DVD player.
Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh stated that on the day in question police carried out a routine search on the premises of the defendant and the articles mentioned in the charge were discovered and suspected to be stolen.
The defendant when given a chance to address the court stated, “On the day when the police carried out their search I was at home in my yard smoking a joint when I saw the police coming. When I look up I saw the police so I decided to blow out my joint and swallow it.”
The defendant was arrested and charged, he will make his next court appearance on March 30.
