A teenager was on Sunday stabbed by his brother during an argument. He reportedly succumbed shortly after, while receiving medical attention.
Dead is 18-year-old Vishaul Zakaroo also known as “Daniel”, a mechanic, of 85 North Yakusari, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice.
According to a police press release, at about 23:00hrs on Sunday in the said village, Zakaroo and his 22-year-old brother were imbibing together with some friends, when the latter requested to borrow the former’s motor cycle, to which he refused. This reportedly sparked an argument between the two, during which the elder sibling whipped out a knife and stabbed his brother once to the stomach.
Vishaul Zakaroo was rushed to the Mibicuri Public Hospital where he was treated and later succumbed.
The alleged murder weapon was recovered by investigators and the body is presently at the Ramoo’s Funeral Home, awaiting a post mortem examination. The suspect is reportedly in custody.
