The cricket section of the Blairmont Community Center on Sunday will be staging the
Annual Roy Fredericks Cricket Cup Cricket competition and fun day. The cricket competition will be a one day 10/10 affair and will be held at the Blairmont Community Center Ground, West Bank Berbice. Apart from the 10/10 cricket competition other activities planned are Table Tennis, Volley ball, football and dominoes.
The day’s activity is expected to commence at 09:00 hrs with the six teams cricket competition for the Roy Fredericks Cup.
Defending champion, Blairmont Blazer, will be hard pressed to retain their crown. They are expected to face stiff challenges from the other teams lead by last year’s runner up DeEdward’s Sports Club and the others – Young Warriors, Cotton Tree Die Hard, Metamorza CC (WBD) and Blairmont U-19.
The table tennis competition will be played in the Under-15, Under-19 and Open categories. The volleyball will be a four-a-side tournament, while the football will be played with five players per team on short goal format.
The Blairmont Cricket Club (BCC) has grown over the years to be recognized as one of the top clubs in Berbice.
Other attractions include BBQ, Tassa Drumming, bouncy Castle, Cartoon Characters, among others. (Samuel Whyte)
