Body of West Berbice man found floating in canal
Residents of Number 11 Village, West Coast Berbice on Tuesday discovered the body of a Bath Settlement W.C.B resident floating in a canal about 14:00 hrs.
It was partially submerged.
The man was identified as 54-year-old Nillidharry Ramgobin who was last seen alive on Monday.
According to information received, his brother disclosed to police that his brother is a frequent imbiber. He would usually hang around an abandoned house in the village.
His body bore no marks of violence.
He was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post mortem is expected to be completed shortly while police investigations continue.
