Dear Editor;
I first listened to a Leonard Cohen’s album back in the 1980. His lyrics truly were almost mystical. His music spoke to the heart, mind, and soul. The beauty, wisdom, humor, and humanity in his songs reflected a deep understanding of the human condition and I will be forever grateful for his artistry. It was already an upsetting week for many of in the United States and hearing of his death really is devastating. Here is my little poem in dedication “And I’m neither left or right
I’m just staying home tonight
Getting lost in that hopeless little screen
But I’m stubborn as those garbage bags
As time cannot decay
I’m junk but I’m still holding up this little wild bouquet
Democracy is coming to the USA
You got me singing. You got me thinking. What more can I say.”
Thank you, Mr. Cohen, you will be truly missed
