United States-based group hands US$15,000 to Guyanese counterparts

and felt the call to serve and help citizens back home in Guyana.
The organisation whilst also participating in the Guyana Softball cup is back home with much more cash and other assistance for the Guyanese public.
The group which was founded in December 2013 has subsequently expanded and is still expanding. A Guyana chapter called the Guyana/Florida Hope non-profit organization which is based in Upper Corentyne area was subsequently formed.
Since its formation the Guyana/Florida Hope Incorporated has grown to be one of the leading non-profit organisations which give yearly help to their counterparts back home.
The NGOs have quietly made a number of significant contributions to various groups and persons in the country.
This year they have so far made their most significant donation by handing over a US$15,000 cheque to the Guyana Chapter. The money is to be used as the members see fit in assisting Guyanese in need.
Apart from the sizable cash donation, there was a 40-foot container of supplies. It was shipped in September. The items include back/neck/knee braces, over 50 wheelchairs, 70 walkers, 50 crutches, clothes, and over 25 pallets of medical supplies. The cost of shipping was US$4,250.
This significant donation comes after the group had made donations of US$9,000 in the past two years to the Guyana Chapter.
So far a number of persons and organisations have been assisted, including someone who had to undergo an eye surgery in Trinidad. The money went to assist persons undergoing treatment for cancer, kidney transplant and acquiring prosthesis legs. The group has so far donated over 200 computers to schools and other organisation in Berbice; clothing, footwear, and wheelchairs were also donated to residents in Angoy’s Avenue and other depressed areas.
They want to be a prominent fixture and of more help to the Guyanese society, thus they are calling on persons in need to make contact so that assistance can be given.
Whilst in the country, the organisation will host feeding programmes at various homes across Guyana. The group will visit Bee Hive, and the Camal and Canaan Homes on the Corentyne.
