The police were busy yesterday morning hunting for an escaped prisoner who made a daring get away early Friday morning from his hospital bed, at Suddie.
It is believed that the man who escaped from police custody was under police guard. However at the time he had escaped, it is still unclear whether he was in handcuffs.
Speaking to several patients who were in the male ward at the Suddie Public hospital, they claimed that they were asleep when the hospitalised prisoner escaped. Even the guard who is securing the front gate at the Suddie Public hospital said he was unable to recognize a patient from the average visitors.
The escaped prisoner is believed to have beaten his wife.
The man hails from Queenstown Village, Essequibo Coast.
