The much anticipated T20 second division cricket competition for teams in the

Upper Corentyne area is set to bowl off tomorrow.
The competition, which is organised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) and sponsored by NPG Packaging & Plastic Inc of Wellington Park, Corentyne, Berbice, will feature 19 teams from Upper Corentyne and 2 from Black Bush Polder areas.
It will get on the way with some 17 matches at the various venues in the Upper Corentyne and Black Bush areas.
The teams are divided in four zones and will play on a round robin basis, home and away with the top two teams from each zone advancing to the knockout stages.
This is the second T20 competition being organised by the UCCA and is touted as one of the biggest with 98 matches scheduled to be played.
The defending champions are No. 69 Vikings with the runner up being No. 70 ‘A’. The semi finals and final are set for October 23 and November 13, 2016 respectively at a venue to be announced later.
The President and Executives of the UCCA once again takes the opportunity to thank Mr. Surendra Ganesh, proprietor of NPG Packaging and Plastic Inc for sponsoring the 20/20 tournament in the Upper Corentyne area. Matches will be played on Sundays, with two matches scheduled to be played at some of the venues, which will see between 15-17 matches played on the days.
Games scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 hrs will see – Yakusari Horizon versus Yakusari Caribs at Yakusari; No. 43 Joppa Warriors playing No. 48 Challengers at No. 43; No. 70 MYO hosting Skeldon at No. 70; No. 69 Red Rose playing No. 68 Turn Team at No. 69; Crabwood Creek Sports Club being at home to No. 72 Cut And Load at C.W.C; No. 73 Young Warriors and No. 69 Vikings squaring off at No. 73; No. 72 All Star taking on Scottsburg United at No. 72, while No. 71 will play C.W.C All Family team at No. 71 ground.
In 14:30hrs games; No. 72 All Star play C.W.C All Family at the No. 72 Ground; No. 71 versus Scottsburg United at No. 71; C.W.C Sports Club hosting 69 Vikings at C.W.C; No. 73 Young Warriors and No. 72 Cut and Load will match skills at the No. 73 venue; No. 70 M.Y.O will be at home to No. 68 Turn Team; No. 69 Red Rose will clash with Skeldon at No. 69; Yakusari Horizon challenge No. 48 Challengers at Yakusari; No. 43 Joppa Warriors and Yakusari Caribs square off at No. 43; No. 59 Sports Club host No. 43 Scorpion at No. 59. Corriverton No, 70 ‘A’ and Crabwood Creek Bomb Squad have drawn byes. (Samuel Whyte)
