Dear Editor,
Please allow me a small space in your prestigious newspaper to express my frustration and disappointment on the conditions of Kuru Kururu, Newtown settlement roads. Kuru Kururu is one of the most populated and established villages along the Linden Highway. Although we still have a long way more to be really established, one of the main challenges that is stopping us is the inaccessibility to the community.
It is a nightmare because of the deplorable roads. The village is also one of the biggest on the highway that has many crossroads and intersections but only one major road tarred and poorly so. The rest of the streets are sand and potholes. My issue as a resident of this beautiful village, is why are our community leaders and residents not tackling these problems aggressively? For example, there is a major intersection in the village (Mike’s Corner) that is the busiest yet it is the worst of them all. It will not cost much to repair. I mean, if we can’t repair the whole village, then repair this junction at least. The potential that Kuru Kururu has is to be an economy driven village and it starts with accessibility.
