A man tell dem boys de other day that a Fuss Standard teacha show him the results of a creative writing project that she class did.
She asked the kids to complete a series of sentences that start wid, “I wish…”
The teacher think dem children would a write about their desire for bicycles, toys, animals, and trips to the zoo and so on etc.
Instead, twenty of the thirty students made reference to the breakup of their families or conflict at home:
“I wish my parents wouldn’t fight.” “I wish my father would come back.” “I wish I could get full marks, so my dad would love me.” “I wish my mother didn’t have a boyfriend.” “I wish I had one mum and one dad, so the kids wouldn’t make fun of me. I have three mammy and three daddy, and they mess up my life.”
“I wish I had an M-1 rifle so I could shoot those who make fun of me.” Jagdeo was in that same class and he wrote I WISH when I get big I can turn president and thief nuff, nuff govt money.
Apart from Jagdeo, is hardly front-page news that the family got more troubles than anything else today.
De teacher seh it continues to distress she to see little children struggling at a time when dem really should be growing up and playing.
Growing up fuh dem now is a day’s wuk.
Millions of these children, except Jagdeo and Ashni plus Brassington in that kind of mess.
That is why dem got so much widespread thiefing, rape and murder. And dem ain’t got no good people to help dem. Jagdeo run all of dem out. Now we got young people who don’t have a role model but dem boys got an advice fuh dem.
