Two men appeared in court yesterday, for allegedly robbing a man of $900 cash and a BLU cell phone with a knife on Wednesday at Duncan Street, Campbellville.
Anthony Hendricks, 18, of 153 Campbellville Housing Scheme, Georgetown, and Davon Jackson, 34, of 152 Tucville Terrace appeared before City Magistrate Faith McGusty and pleaded not guilty to a robbery under-arms charge.
They are accused of stealing the items from Cabrera Batista.
The duo was unrepresented by an attorney and each was ordered to post $40,000 bail.
The two men will make their next court appearance on July 1, for statements.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Seon Blackman had no objections to the men being granted bail. However, he requested that bail be granted in a substantial amount to ensure their return for trial.
No facts of the matter were related to the court.
Jackson had sought to defend himself, but he was advised by the Magistrate to save his defence for trial.
