Police are trying to ascertain how a 56-year-old Moblissa farmer ended up with gunshot wounds to the leg, arm and groin at around 09.00 hrs yesterday.
Police said that Cicel Todd, a cash crop farmer of Moblissa, had left his home about 08:30hrs for Moblissa Hilltop to collect wood shavings for his chickens.
On his way home, he allegedly heard an explosion and suddenly felt a burning sensation to his left thigh, left arm and penis.
He then collapsed. Todd made an alarm, resulting in his daughter Deslyn Cornelius going to his rescue and rushing him to the Linden Hospital where he was treated and admitted a patient in a stable condition.
Investigators have arrested a 36-year old farmer of Moblissa in connection with the incident. The weapon has not yet been found.
