A construction worker and father of two was ordered to post bail in the sum of $220,000 after he denied

charges of illegal firearm and ammunition possession, when he appeared yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan, was Corneil Isaacs of Lot 62-63 Charlestown, Georgetown.
He is accused of having a .38 revolver and five rounds of matching ammunition in his tenure on May 3, at Melongie Landing, Cuyuni. It was further alleged that on the same day, while brandishing a gun he threatened Phillip Roopchan.
Attorney, Glenn Hanoman made a bail application on behalf of the shop owner. During his petition he told the court that the allegations against his client stemmed from a vendetta he is having with the complainant.
Roopchan, the lawyer stated, is a businessman whom was previously charged with murder.
This matter was adjourned until May 18, and transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
